final announcement as there are still a few places free.
I enclose the final details of speakers and the weekend schedule.
This is an informal non-profit making weekend of photographic indulgence
arranged and hosted annually by the ARENA group of photographers in Ufton
Court - a beautiful Elizabethan manor in the Berkshire countryside in the
UK..
It is open to all but places are limited.
Why not come and join us for either day or for the whole weekend? You will
be very welcome.

--------------------------------------------
This year Arena's Seminar will be wide ranging with topics drawn from the
19th. century through to those of the 21st. century.
INVITED SPEAKERS:
Dominic Burd trained at Plymouth for 5 years and specialised in Victorian
processes and hand coated materials. He has now had 4 years on platinum
printing, a process originally patented in 1873. Dominic will bring us up to
date and show us his collection of prints.
David Herrod has for long been a favourite of landscape photographers with
his superb images of Cumbria. His work is exhibited widely and has been
shown on television and in many publications. David will be presenting
'Talking pictures'
Aernout Overbeeke is making a special visit from the Netherlands. Some of
his work is known in this country and and we are looking forward to his
presentation. Aernout describes his own work as "charged" and that he can
"best vent his feelings in black and white"... "The most fascinating
photographs are almost black. Black says so much more. White is empty, white
is what you begin with. Black is full. ... Mystery, that's what I love".
Peter Goldfield runs the photographic centre at Duckspool and has been in
the forefront of digital photography. He refuses to be hidebound by
convention and his presentation moves us into the 21stcentury by examining
the use of digital processes in creating and supporting fine art images.
IN ADDITION:
There will be a number of Arena members presenting their work, including
Richard Sadler, Leigh Preston and Graham Wiltshire.
Finally we have the usual Saturday evening session when anyone can air their
views and their work. In the past this has revealed some surprising
highlights.
Members of Arena are looking forward to meeting old friends and making many
new ones.
