Dual cable release?

My Olympus dual cable release recently broke and I'm wondering about
what to replace it with.  Is there anything better out there?

Also, how successful can syncing two cameras with a dual cable release
be?  The cameras in question are Olympus 35 RCs (35mm, but this applies
to medium format rigs too :-> ).  What's the fastest shutter speed I
reasonably expect to shoot at while maintaining sync?
