I had to pay $4.95 (plus tax) yesterday for one at a local
camera shop. Comparing to Greg's price, it's an example of
why I find it difficult to support the local camera shops here.
Austin is not usually an expensive market for most products,
but for photography-related items it seems very bad to me.
Just had to vent a little...now back to more substantive stuff
Now that I have the adapter, is there a place to get a
1/4-20 replacement for the little bolt thingy that holds
the case to the camera?
(The one that comes with the case screws in to the tripod
socket, and allows a 3/8-16 tripod bolt to screw in the
other end. So the replacement would need to be a "bolt
thingy" that is 1/4-20 male on one end and 1/4-20 female
on the other end.)
Does anyone shoot with the Spud case on the camera? It
seems as though the flip-down part of the case would have
to be bent back a good bit to ensure it stays out of the
picture. Wouldn't that soon wear out and break the case?
Thanks,
Paul Talbot
