Paul et al.,
There just is no such thing as a free lunch! www.smallparts.com has small
setscrews, albeit with socket heads (allen wrench), and cup points. They
have them in metric, also..The problem is that the originals on the Sputnik,
and similar mechanisms rely on a conical point to draw the lens ring DOWN
tight when they are tightened into the triangular cross sectioned groove
that they engage. On my "Potato", 5 of the 6 screws were coroded in place,
neccessitating drilling them out and re-tapping the holes to a larger size.
I then turned conical ends on some 2/56 threaded rod, and then cut
screwdriver "slots" across the tops of my home-made setscrews with a fine
jewelers saw . Now for another cliche :" what you don't know may not hurt
you!"  using the available "cup" point screws might work fine. The original
screws were, I believe, 1 mm dia. ( a size that Small parts doesn't carry!)
