I use the silver tape to tape the film (possibly on the emulsion side,
doh!) to the mount and then use 3/4 inch 3M Scoth Magic tape (the
refill rolls are labeled 810) to seal the sides. The 3/4 inch width
allows me to start the tape at the edge of the front aperture and wrap
around to the back aperture. I have to be careful not to get finger
prints on the tape that will be in front.
I've always found mounts sealed with the silver tape to be strange,
probably because I never thought of sealing the mount with something
taht would call attention to itself.
