Probably there is a fifth one, somewhat related to 1) flare:

If you take a look at the example at

	http://www.pauck.de/marco/photo/panorama/horizon202.html

you'll notice some artifacts that are obviously caused by the sun
shining into the lens. However, they extend towards outside the image
area (in vertical as well as horizontal direction). Perhaps they are
caused by some kind of reflection inside the film compartment.

Has anyone found the actual reason and even a way to fix this?!
