Long, long, and then some panoramas

I have been interested in this subject for a while.

Is perhaps the best way to do this with a high-end digital video camera?

If do you it using a slit-camera, and transport the film whole the camera is
moving, I think there is no regular camera that can hold enoiugh film for a
really long stretch.

Thus, I'ld like to know more too of how it is done. How easy it is to make a
camera yourself, etc. etc.

This is very interesting stuff! Can also be applied indoors, even on macro
levels!
The Seitz Super camera can e.g. do a model train from very closeby.
