Bob, your ideal kit is for starters - only when you have gained experience
from it do you arrive at the crossroads, with many solutions and problems on
offer for different situations - technical, making a living out of it,
quality for different purposes, customer needs and so on....

There is no ideal kit for every ratio you meet - just a place to start.

We know digital will eventually replace film but not in every case at the
moment - and the question of cost still causes boundries. Your 'only way' is
still not the full answer.
