In addition, there may be a significant number of silver screens that were
purchased with no particular plans to use them for 3D. Our group bought a new
glass bead screen several years ago, but I noticed that the company also
sells a comparable silver screen.
Indeed, the term "the silver screen" is often used synecdochically to refer
to the movie business in general.
