WOW!!! This confirms my long-held suspicion that the 120V/10W bulb is
severely underrated at 120V, hence the distinctly orange color.

And for those who laugh at the idea of the 10W halogen bulb in a red-button
viewer, let me remind you that the 120V bulb is a 10W bulb and so is the
75V when used at 120V.  In terms of heat and damage to the slide, I don't
think there is a problem, even though, wearing sunglasses might be a good
idea.

The funny part is that once you are used to the 10W halogen bulb and turn
back to the 2W, you will wonder "who turned off the lights" and will want
to go back to the bright 10W light.
