REVERE FLASH

Hi everyone,
Can some REVERE (WOLLENSACK) users tell me how they manage to use electronic
flash on their camera ? The hotshoe does not accept the regular flash
"foot". There is a protruding contact in the way. Putting the flash
separatly on a bar doesn't help either. How to make the electrical connection ?
Is there a special connector available ?

PS. Only have used the REVERE for outside pics. Love it !
