Well Becky, I can relate to this problem. I have been trying to
take close-up pictures with my Realist for 10 years. I've got quite
good results at less than the minimum 2 1/2 feet restriction of the
Realist. To do this, I mount in Nimslo mounts and often block
out the edges with an insert mount with round holes. You only
see the main subject this way.

But.... I have recently found the perfect solution to this Realist
problem. Use a Nimslo! Use a modified Nimslo. You then get
all 36 pictures from the roll, the lenses are closer, the mounts are
already designed for the proper camera, and... you can also use
it with lens attachments for 6" and 12". Also comes with a lens
cover for blocking off the two center lenses which gives you your
normal Realist situation. Quick and easy to change from Realist
to close up Nimslo. Perfect!

Contact James Lucas, Technical Enterprises, 1401 Bonnie
Doone, Corona Del Marc CA 92625. He has these modified
Nimslos at a reasonable price.
