While there were a lot of quotes about the pros who shoot slides and
shuck them like corn for a few winners, I do not treat stereos in this
way. Firstly,
many a shot in stereo is always interesting that would be zilch in
planar photography. I am fussy too and GLASS mount the masterpieces.
The excess I leave in cardboard mount or aluminum mask, but I keep
them because I consider every stereo a record of our time and
place..and few in these days are making that record. I often take
these dups and extras and give them to someone with a small $1 viewer
to jazz them up on stereo interest.
I always even in 35mm negatives (George Benard Shaw said the 35mm
photographer is like the cod fish who lays 30,000 eggs to get a few
adult fish!), group masterpieces, historical, family, people, etc. in
sorting but keep
but do not file a lot of junk that will never be printed more than
once. I am amazed at times how I had the last picture ever taken of
someone deceased that was wanted later. BobH
