I might note that the last time I was down at WalMart they had
a sale on for some other Plano stuff - one of the things was
a sort of "fly fishing / little tool" organizer which looks like a 
downsized tool chest. There are a number of drawers below and a 
fair sized compartment above. It occured to me that it might be
a dandy thing to use to carry around some realist format slides
below and some red button type viewers on top - there is a nice
carrying handle. 

I should be back down there again tomorrow. I'll take a bit of
a closer look.
