Ignoring possible technical problems, I think that the majority of people
who do not read the list, don't read it because they are not all that
interested in the subject.

I am not surprised to see that most of us responding to this issue (myself
included) prefer the unified list.  That's because we are the ones who read
it and participate and we like it the way it is.

While I could understand a split between active 3-d photographers and
camera/image collectors, like Andy Burr proposed earlier, I hear that Andy
is looking to buy a stereo camera.  So, something good came out of all this
equipment discussions. ;)  I myself have learned a lot in areas where I
would not normally subscribe because they do not interest me a lot.
