To split or not to split...

To add my voice to the recent discussion about breaking up the list, I
agree with everyone who expressed the benefits of learning about a topic
that they, otherwise, would not have chosen. I must admit that there are
still a number of posts that I do not read completely, but I have also
returned to these posts on occasion when the information becomes relevent
to my ever expanding interests.

There ARE a few things that I would like to see more of in the list
(more discussion about View-Master, Stereocards, and Tru-Vue collecting
among them), but based on the number of posts that I have seen over the
past year on these topics, I am not sure if they warrant theit own list.
Are people refraining from posting their ideas on these topics because they
don't feel it fits into the 'concept' of the current list, or are there
just not that many people interested?

I read the digests in two ways: when it first comes in I glance
through the subject headings and pick out any that have immediate interest
for me (especially posts from Mary Ann :-), then I return to the digest
when I have more time and read the whole thing. I hope that people
remember to make their 'subject' heading relevant to their post as this
certainly helps guide everyone through the digest.

Last comment: I noticed a couple people had been upset after returning
from holidays and finding hundreds of 3D messages. You do realize that
it's possible to put your subscription on 'hold' don't you?

                                                 :-) jamie.
