There are other possibilities. In any other conference/newsgroup that I've
been involved in there has always apparently been many more "lurkers"
than those actually posting messages. Human nature I guess ... that's
simply the way some people participate.

The other thing here is that there are some obviously *very* knowledgeable
people contributing to this list and this can be a little intimidating for 
those
who are less knowledgeable. Don't get me wrong ... I don't get any
impression of chauvinism here (quite the opposite) but I think that human
nature plays a part here too.
