I was thinking along the same lines as George: this discussion is being carried 
on by all the monomanaical stereographers on the list and none of us have any 
trouble reading all of the posts so why should we want to change the way 
business is done?  Therefore let's rephrase the question; how can we increase 
the participation of those who aren't as involved now and whose priorities are 
such that they can't read all of the posts?  I thought the ACK suggestion was 
good - it makes the list more like a usenet newsgroup wherein you pick through 
the titles before selecting what you'll read.
 
I want to thank you folks for being so complementary about my part in the list 
but let me point out that it is no longer really my work.  I'm just moderator 
emeritus.  Bob Wier supplies the computer and does the programming while Yiing 
and Elliott (soon to be replaced by Dan) do the mechanics of the list.  It is 
their work and they deserve the credit.
