Re: Caution: metadiscussion ahead

John, first, thanks for forwarding Digest 1121 which somehow
did not get to me directly. I tried to thank you privately
at the address from whence you sent it, but I goofed and typed
"mhl" instead of "mh1" and of course it bounced. (Old eyes!)

Now for the issue in question, MY VOTE IS TO KEEP PHOTO-3D
AS IS. Even with a little crap now and then, there is enough
good stuff being posted that I think we would lose part of
the attraction of PHOTO-3D if it is broken into multi-segments.
I know that I have throughly enjoyed postings such as "After
the Fact Stereo" and those pertaining to aerial mapping in
areas around the South Pacific near Vietnam even tho I know
that I will never have tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars
of specialized equipment in a Lab in New Orleans or
intervalometers and other sophisticated photographic equipment
in a light Airplane flying in the South Pacific. But even in
such exotic postings, there are principles involved that can
be of benefit to those of us who are less talented and have
by comparison rather ordinary equipment (of which we are
extremely proud, sometimes to a fault).

And for the less exotic but still helpful postings, I did buy
the Plano #3700 Plastic Box for storing my stereo slides about
six months ago after someone made that suggestion (and there
was another posting a couple of days ago). After seeing dozens
of postings pertaining to levels, my ears perked up after
seeing the one recently about the level which beeped when it
became level (I haven't searched for such a level yet but
intend to do so). It's almost like garage sales and flea
markets, you just never know when you are going to find something
that you have been wanting for years.

BTW,is ORTHO that guy that Shakespeare wrote about? :-))
