re: Halogen bulb use--ALERT!

I read several times this past year that using Halogen bulbs for reading should be done by indirect light only (e.g. light shining up and off the ceiling). Since Halogen bulbs produce light in a broader spectrum than normal bulbs, they may constitute a health risk, such as producing cataracts, etc. in the future. 

I suggest that the many of you who are using them in your viewers, stop using them NOW! until this is resolved. Or can someone of scientific or medical ilk please give your two cents (and back it up with quoted literature).
