Jon, just think about this for a second... The same exactly statement one
can make for the Realist camera... Cumersome mechanics, limited optics,
minimal automation... And yet that has not stopped you or me or others in
this list from taking some excellent 3-d pictures with it...

Now I understand that a stereo camera and a projector are two different
things. With the stereo camera we are really limited more by our
imagination than the optics or the automation. In projection, there is
little creativity involved and automation and convenience is a big plus.

However, I would like to say that going from no 3-d projection to 3-d
projection with a TDC 116 is a great leap. Going from the TDC 116 to
the Brackett Dissolver, FED or RBT projectors, is just a refinement.

I feel a deep appreciation and respect for this 35 lbs projector which is
built like a tank, will survive a nuclear holocaust and will certainly be
in service 100 years from now. I also love the nice smell of the 50s when
the blower comes on... One day I might be able to afford an RBT projector
so I can flip through 3-d slides with a remote control while I am eating
pop corn in the couch, but until then, I am enjoying my TDC 116 which makes
3-d projection possible and I don't mind the lack of automation, limited
optics or bulky mechanics...
