Me too.  The flicker isn't an inherent problem with
field-sequential.  It's just because of the currently
reasonable implementations.  F'rinstance, field-
sequential is flicker-free on a Virtual i/O rig, and
the res limitations of Virtual i/O will be overcome,
inevitably, Real Soon Now.  IMHO.
