Reference to the BILLION.  We were brought up in the U.K. to understand 
that a billion was derived from 1-million x 1-million,  and a trillion 
was 1-billion x 1-billion.

It's only in recent years that the U.S. version has come on the scene in 
Europe.   However,  when you get to those volumes it hardly matters!
