Thanks, Mike, for expressing so eloquently what I tried to say
and failed so miserably...  Maybe someone will lend me some of their
"medication" the next time.

One other point and then I will crawl back into my hole-- the word
"old-timer" was George's, not mine, and I took it to mean "long-time
list member".  I don't know how it got turned to meaning anything
about chronological age.  I happen to know from private correspondence
that I'm a year older than George, and neither of us are "old-timers",
chronologically speaking.
