The Nishika hot shoe will accept any modern flash.  In spite of the funny-
looking contact pattern, only the big, central contact does anything.
The Nishika flash is quite wimpy, with a guide number of maybe 10 feet.
Your friend could do much better at any decent camera store, or on the
used market.

If you have access to Usenet, there was one for sale very recently in
one of the rec.photo.foresale groups.  Perhaps another list member
noticed it (or bought it?).
