Yes, but so does a painter. That doesn't make a painting a photo
and that was precisely my point. I didn't in any way want to
imply that you didn't have to take those things into account, but
your work is not pure photography, it's graphic art that's
converted to photography. (IMO)

I made my comments to point out from the officer's & other
club member's perspective just what the issues were. I
realize that since you are one of two members actively doing
CG work that you may have felt it as a personal attack, but
it was not meant to be. As I mentioned before, I thoroughly
enjoy the CG slides presented at the club, and have even made
my own CG title slides. Members have complained that they
don't have access to this type of equipment and others have
seriously asked if the CG slides conform to PSA guidelines.
We are a PSA club, and if we wish to remain so, we need to
follow their rules. I honestly believe that the complainers
are in the minority, but the officers can't ignore them,
particularly in regard to PSA guidelines.

I agree there is some resemblance to Table Tops, but there's an
important difference, and that's taking the picture. With CG
there is too much graphic art and not enough emphasis on the
photographic process.

I personally would be interested in working with you on a slide. I
think it would also be interesting to the club if you did a little
presentation at a future club meeting. Explaining the process
will benefit everyone! No one is rushing to exclude CG work from
competition, but investigation is taking place into PSA regs. I
can't really predict what will happen. Who knows, we might have
to draft guidelines for PSA? (And no, you won't have to sit in
the back unless you'd like to learn projection or happen to like
the stretched depth effect you get from sitting in back.)

Oooh, Oooh! Private lessons with Dr. T. Sounds like this should be
a prize for the NSA auction... Glad to see you're branching out in
to other forms of 3-D, Bill! With Dr. T as your guide and additional
help available at the Detroit Stereographic Society, I'm sure
you'll be creating prize-winning slides with your Realist in no time!

P.S. No apology necessary for your previous post. I had my flame-
      proof suit on! (neener neener)
