What people would that be? Most of my mods have a 62-64mm base. I definately
agree that the base is VERY important to realistic stereo, which is why I
seldom recommend twinning with anything but compact cameras. Bear in mind
the definitions of the two terms: "twinning" is basically having two
separate conventional cameras placed side-by-side, while "siamesing" is
contructing a single stereo camera from the parts two two conventional
cameras. Siamesing is not reversable, while most twinning projects can be
used as single cameras as well.

Lens focal length is another overlooked variable that can put everyone in
Lilliput. A lot of people seem to prefer using wide-angle lenses with a
standard or larger stereo base, another distortion factor!
