Great idea, Bill. I must have done it wrong, though. Maybe someone can
help? I don't have a sandblasting setup, so I frosted my lenses with
600 grit sandpaper on a sanding disk on my Dremel. This left little lines
in a circular pattern, which seems to have ruined the focus, just as
happened to
you. I rewired my Dremel to run backward and put reverse circular patterns
on the other lens surface, hoping to cancel out the patterns, but that
didn't work very well. Should I disassemble the lenses and try a different
pattern on the interior srufaces? Or maybe I should quit being so cheap and
get the lenses professionally sandblasted.

Also, I bought George's "Themelizing for Amateurs" Kodaslide book and this
tip wasn't in there. Was that an oversight, Dr. T? I guess I'll have to
buy the next edition if I want better instructions on lens frosting . . .

In any event, I must say I am disappointed with my first attempt at lens
frosting. I think that the uneven lighting was actually better than the
way it is now.

Well, enough about my troubles - I hope you all have happy, safe holidays.

Jim
