No, advancing the counter will not interfere with film advancing.
Counter problems are easy to fix in the Realist. Take the top
4 screws and remove the top plate. Play with the counter for
a while and you will figure out what to adjust.

No, no, no!!! A BIG NO! The camera will pick one of the two
values in-between. The proper thing to do is set the aperture
between two values and not the shutter speed.
