Re: TDC's Barn Door

The barn door seems to be placed in the light path so that as the 
slide is being inserted the screen is dark.  It avoids the motion 
sickness caused by seeing the image move sideways across the screen 
as the slide is positioned.  The barn door is opened by a tab on 
the carrier, at the last instant just as the moving slide has come to 
rest.
