Kodak claims 7 stops of latitude. 5 over and 2 under.
Something I read on rec.photo today suggested that the
2 under is more like 1 or 1.5 under (unless you like
jet black shadows). But still a very wide latitude
film. Most neg films are about 3 over and 1 or 2 under.
Kodak is downplaying the speed side of it since
they think Joe Public will avoid an 800 speed film
thinking it is a specialty item when in fact his
slow point & shoot can benefit most from it. IE more
flash range, faster shutter speeds when zoomed out,
and he never gets anything larger than a 4x6 print.
rec.photo opinions vary on whether the Kodak
or the Fuji is a better 800 speed film. I'm impressed
with the Fuji but haven't tried the Kodak.
