Re: stereo window

The past several days the list has had a quite a discussion
of the "stereo window!"  I'd like to make a couple observations
about list dynamics:

The discussion was started when new subscriber Paul Pascu asked
for an explanation of the terms "stereo window" and "stereo window
error."  The discussion that ensued might (or might not!) have
proved overwhelming for a newcomer, but if he studies the comments
and saves them to re-read as he gains experience, I'm sure the
discussion will prove highly beneficial for him.  Lurkers who
have supressed their questions should take note of this concrete
evidence that any question, no matter how seemingly simple, has the
potential to generate significant new exploration of stereo concepts.

I would also like to recognize and congratulate DrT for, as usual,
kindly providing a friendly, detailed explanation in response to
the question, rather than merely saying "that's been discussed many
times before; go look in the archives or the FAQ."  (There are times
when that response is appropriate, but IMO it should not be used
automatically.)
