(more commonly known as the "witness mark"):
The Realist's witness mark appears in the bottom of the camera's
right side film gate. As Gabriel explained, that means it ends
up at the top of the negative or slide. However, the witness mark
is in the area between the sprocket holes and would not expect it
to ever appear in a Realist print. In fact, the only way it could
be in the print is if the sprocket holes also appear in the print
(well, ok, some fanatic could create a mask that lets the witness
mark print without printing the sprocket holes, but that seems
highly unlikely!)
So, you have to look at the negative or slide chip (unmounted) to
locate the witness mark.
