Actually one of the latest advances in AF 35mm technology has been
Contax's AF. It uses the moving film plane to focus which means that
the line of Zeiss lens needed no redesign thus older lens' weren't
made obsolete. Of course, the press has labeled this an ingenious
"NEW" development.
