Why don't they make'em that way? Technically, it should be
trivial to do (the sound mode in the example could easily
have been encoded into the film to automatically set things
properly. Surely standards exist for such simple things (I
have no idea)?
Likewise I think stereo synch could be easily made automatic.
I can think of mechanisms to autofocus off the screen, etc.
Seems like there'd be monetary motivation to make things goof-proof.
I wonder why it hasn't happened? Too small a market for new equipment?
Or maybe it's just that there's still a lot of old equipment being
used and only the new theatre's are goof-proof?
I'm all questions this morning, no answers.... sigh.
