P3D A Beginner's Kit, Proposed

Whoa, Nelly!!  Customized viewers and storage pages?  Voluminous CD
ROMs and Photo-3D subscriptions?  Maybe I can add the $600 viewmaster
viewer! ;-) ;-)

I guess I should clarify.  I'm looking for lean-and-mean intro stuff
here.  Maximum Bang for the Beginner Budget Buck, some hard-core
must-have basics with a favorable signal-to-noise ratio.  All these
products are great for the 3D Christmas list (they're sure on mine!)
and Photo 3-D is a good long-term investment in your stereo education
- but slogging through the archives is a pretty inefficient way to
learn one's stereo ABC's.

So think back esteemed veterans.  What gave you your milestone
insights when you were larnin' the ropes?  What tool or trick changed
your 3-D modus operandi in a fundamental way?  The tyros are waiting
out here!
