The lens has multiple perspectives, not the image. Your idea is comparable
to making a copy of the 360-degree strip and offsetting it from the original
by 30 columns. You have only shifted the image without creating a
second perspective. What is needed is a way to separately capture an
image made by the left half of the lens from that created by the right
half of the lens - a'la the QDOS lens.
