P3D Flat over/under?

A friend who is working on a 3D film has encountered the phrase
"flat over/under". The person she was talking with gave the impression
that there were two types of over under, one being the aforementioned
"flat" kind...Could this possibly refer to anamorphic and non-anamorphic?
*Is* there such a thing as anamorphic over/under? (we're talking about
35mm motion pictures here, btw) The 3D movie magic page on
stereoscopy.com
shows an anamorphic side-by-side format, which makes sense.
This raises the question, also, of just how many single stip formats are
there?
I did see a screening of Flesh For Frankenstein a couple of years ago
that managed to have most of the reels shown with no depth, but I suspect
this is not the answer she's looking for, and I'm still trying to figure
out what they did to make it do that...
