P3D Re: Why different?
How can you people compare accumulating material goods with
having children???
Believe me, if I had a choice, I would have zero cars.... Walking,
riding my bike or taking the bus as I did back in Greece. But the
USA operates around the automobile. I am jealous when the friends
from UK talk about taking the train to go to their stereo meetings...
Imagine... relaxing, taking a nap, catching up in reading, looking
at stereo slides, even mounting, while going from place A to place B.
Well, I have tried everything... Taking stereo pictures while I drive.
Reading, eating, talking about stereo with Jim Motley... Even looking
at slides while I drive... (I have not tried mounting yet...) But
this is incovnenient, not to mention dangerous...
>Wow! What a .beautiful. camera the Iloca is!
Hey, I understand your point... You love the looks and feel of your
many stereo cameras. You fall in love with them. On the other hand
I am more interested on how the pictures that come out of the camera
look. Beauty means nothing for a camera to me. And in my hands it
will not remain beautiful for long... It will soon look pretty ugly
from the signs of use and abuse... I think the efforts to keep a
camera looking beautiful are getting in the way of using it. I do
not put the cameras in cases because they take space, add weight and
are an obstacle for quick shooting. While in Greece, I encountered
the most hostile environment a camera can see: Combination of blowing
sand and salt water. You can protect the camera by not using it but
that's not acceptable for me. I could not miss the fine photographic
opportunities this place offered... I know others feel differently
but I just wanted you to see my point of view.
