P3D Surround

Greg W writes " kindly remember to credit where the idea came from"
concerning 4 track surround sound. I should mention that I created my
first surround tape using a 4 track deck in 1983....( AKA " Quad" style
:-)) The question I posed to the audio enthusiasts was about the
feasability of paying for Pro-Logic encoding as a method to score a
slide presentation......which would allow such a program to "travel"
using a standard Pro-Logic receiver. Greg was kind enough to respond as
well as offer ideas for using 4 tracks etc. ( I have owned 2 machines
for over 10 years now) I thanked him and others for their ideas I've
been using all along anyway.
This is certainly not a new concept, but nevertheless a practical one.
FWIW...it's best to use a 4 track that has independent channel outputs
POST EQ. One of my machines is limited with EQ bypass for each channel.
BTW, my home theatre system includes bass shakers mounted in my couch, 4
rear speakers to adjust for ambience via DSP processing, a pair of Sonic
Maximizers and an optional stereo Rane graphic EQ for tweaking. I ain't
learned nothin bout audio from P3d so far........but I'm all ears. :-)
