Sure.  I'm surprised that no one has written about the proper use of the 
strap.  The strap can be adjusted and worn in such a manner as to provide 
additional support...just as the proper use and adjustment of the sling can 
steady your rifle.  What? No shooters on this list?  No one remembers boot 
camp?  What kind of outfit is this, anyway?  ;-)

ps.  I have had great fun with my KenLab Gyro Stabiliser.  I have a KS-4, 
which can help to steady cameras up to four pounds.  They also make units 
rated for 2, 6 & 8 pound equipment.  The aerial guys swear by them....
