[photo-3d] Twinning Cameras

Late last year I was making plans to twin a pair of Minolta SRT
cameras but gave up on the idea due to the separation of the lenses
being over 2 3/4 inches. I got that distance from my Stereo Realist. I
gave up because I was told that the distance would be too great to do
stereo correctly. OK fine, no problem.
But I keep seeing folks on here twinning cameras using Olympus or
Canon cameras. I measured the dimensions of an Olympus OM-1 and found
that twinning them side-by-side would have the same over distance
problem I would have with my Minoltas. So how are you overcomming this
spacing problem? Even a small point-and-shoot Olympus exceeds the
2 3/4 inch spacing distance when mounted side-by-side.

I have done slide-bar stuff. Stunning as long as you work within the
limitations.
