Hi,
 You might also want to consider an FM broadcast band transmitter. They
are available as licence free low power units that will cover a large
area with broadcast quality sound and the reciver can be anything from a
"walkman" style radio to a "boom box".
 I built one a few years ago so I could enjoy TV late at night and not
keep my wife awake. (She can hear the TV across the house, up the stairs
and thru 3 closed doors :-)
