Hmm. Okay, I don't speak for Disney, but I work there (on the film
side). Yes, they love digital. They would like to go there now. As a
distribution format, they are champing at the bit - distribution costs
drop dramatically.
I don't think the film we use for stereo slides has much to do with the
film we use for movies. Stocks are radically different on our end from
what we use for our slides (I know this, because I originally got into
stereo as a means of learning more about film, figuring it was half of
my job. I was surprised to discover that only the basics applied, the
stocks and processes involved are different enough that the details no
longer apply).
