I guess it is time for me to step in *{;-)

There is no reason to sacrifice precision for convenience or
vise versa - the Spicer does them both and both better than
tabbed heat seal mounts!

John - how long does it take you to mount a 28 pair roll of
film in tabbed heat seal mounts from start to finish? That
counts cutting the film to full seal ready to view. Also what
is your "failure rate"? By that I mean in this speedy
processing how many of them are not mounted to projection
precision?

I can do a roll with 100% accuracy in Spicer mounts in about
30 minutes. I believe that I can teach almost anyone in 15
minutes how to mount a roll in less than an hour with less
than 10 rolls under their belt. A very small learning curve if
you ask me.

If all you are doing is shoving your film chips up (or down)
against the tabs for vertical alignment then either you have a
perfectly matched set of lenses and film gates on your camera
(which is very hard to find) or you are getting an untolerable
amount of misalignment.

Everyone is welcome to use whatever mount they wish, but when
all is factored together (cost, ease, precision, etc.) then
the Spicer cardboard mount is the clear winner by a mile. And
no, I do not have any affiliation with the manufacturer of
Spicer mounts. I am just a very satisfied customer.

That's all for now,
