If you do want an auto-focus stereo camera, then it would be a good idea to
order an RBT-S1 now. The RBT-S1 may turn out to be the only auto-focus
stereo camera ever manufactured. In my own case it is the convenient 'MF'
(manual focus) button that has the most appeal as, when coupled with
aperture priority auto exposure, it allows full depth of field control which
is essential in so many stereo shots.

Others might be able to comment in a more informed way, however my
understanding is that it will not be all that long before the base camera,
the Konica Hexar, will no longer be available. I also have a feeling that
RBT will in the longer term introduce an S1 replacement that will not have
auto-focus lenses, but it might well have a range finder and interchangeable
lenses.
