It doesn't sound like you would _need_ an "adaptor/replacement"
comparable to the CRIS MR-9 for the LR44 (used in the newer Feds / Fed
Boys?) since comparable 1.5V batteries are available, both alkaline and
silver, as detailed in other posts. What type of 1.35V  mercury battery
is used in the older Feds? Is it the PX625?
