I am curious about how you are calculating "break even" point (on the
Rayovac Renewal rechargable alkalines)? Are you basing this on one set
of batteries and one charger? Since I have several sets of batteries for
several viewers, my break even point came pretty quickly, spreading out
the cost of the charger over several simultaneous sets of batteries
(rather than over several sets of batteries over time as might be true
for other users). It is also nice if you can catch the occasional sale
on batteries, and the chargers often have rebates. The system is
especially economical over the long term if you like it well enough to
stick with it (as I do). I believe a pair of D cells go for $5-6 and the
large charger for $15-20? -Linda
