I think PayPal is a great service.  It is my preferred
way to settle eBay auctions.

HOWEVER, I would not trust them with very much
of MY money.  Not too far in the past there were problems.
You could not access your account and you could not
reach anyone at customer service.  Their website made
no mention of what was happening.  Public reports said
the problems were due to rapid growth.

When I did finally reach customer service, I was not happy.
The person I spoke with agreed with me that the company
appeared to be about to cease to exist.  He was kept in
the dark about the nature of the problems as much as the public.

My advice is don't keep anything in you PayPal account 
that you can't afford to lose.  It is about the same as putting
money in a strangers pocket and asking him to hold it until
you need it.
