As Hershel said, paypal has worked fine for many
of us who deal with small amounts of money (the
article talks about $20,000 and a lawsuit for
$400,000, not your typical ebay seller....)

An alternative is ebay's Billpoint... They provide
the same service Paypal does and you can also use
this service for purchases/payments not related to 
ebay - I have done it many times).  Some buyers find 
Billpoint easier to figure out and more trustworthy.
